How do I connect Sony Bravia home theater speakers to the prewired cables in my home?
I have a new construction and they have wired my home for surround sound which include two wall plates in the front and two in the rear or the living room. Inside of these white plates is a role of white cable that looks like it has two wires inside the conduit. The Sony system I brought come with cables that you attach to the speakers and is color coded to attach back to the main system/unit. Is it possible to connect the included wiring with the Sony system to the prewires in my home? If so, how? Am I suppose to buy some type of connector/converter, or rerun the wiring? (Hope not : / )
You can use the wires/cables you have. Use the wires you have to connect the back of your receiver to the wall plates in the front. Use another set of speaker wires to connect the speakers to the wall plates in the back.
(Or if what you have is long enough, simply cut it in half and strip the ends to get two sets of wires)
